Meal Services
We all understand the time it takes to plan, shop for, cook, and clean up tasty, nourishing meals any day - and that’s without a newborn wanting all of your attention and snuggles! How about making a plan to have a trained postpartum doula come to your home and make food specifically intended to aid in your nourishment and healing.
Some favorite meals include soups made with nourishing bone broth, lactation cookies, veggie filled egg bakes for an easy breakfast or snack, congee bowls, chili, coconut curry chick pea stew, traditional Italian meatballs, and more!

Flavor is super important to me. All of the dishes I make have been approved by me and many happy clients. I wouldn’t make a huge batch of soup for you if I thought it was just - “meh.” So while I can’t guarantee we’ll like the same things, I can say there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy the food I make!

If I’m doing your grocery shopping, I like to visit Natural Grocers and Mountain Mama. They seem to consistently have organic, sometimes local produce and the best options as far as grass-fed, pastured, humanely raised meat. That being said, those places can be a bit spendy and I have a few items that I generally purchase from Costco, Sprouts, or King Soopers to keep costs from skyrocketing. I also love growing things, so during the summer months you may get to enjoy some fresh produce or herbs from my own organic garden.

All you need is to sit back, relax, and maybe help me locate a few things around the kitchen if I can’t find them myself. I’ll send you a form to fill out before my visit to get an idea about what you have around and anything else that I may need, I’ll bring with me. I do require a generally clean kitchen with a functioning oven and stovetop as well as room in the fridge/freezer to store your yummy treats.

I try to make sure each recipe provides at least 4 servings so that you and a partner or friend could get at least two meals out of it. That being said, many of the soups and stews serve more like 6-8, especially if you have something on the side to supplement, like a nice crusty loaf of bread. This is why it’s great to have a bit of room in the freezer to be able to save some extras for a rainy day.
-
I generally recommend eating up the food or freezing it within about 5 days, 3 days for fish. Most soups and stews freeze wonderfully, so try to finish off the fish and stir fry first, but anything else should be great if you defrost it within 3 months.

It really helps to have some space in your fridge and freezer before I come over, that way things can easily be put away when they’re cool. If you’d like me to provide you with some eco friendly storage containers, just let me know!
